Rocky Mount Assistant City Manager Thomas Moton Rumored to leave for Wilmington

Rumor has it the latest departure from the City of Rocky Mount is Assistant City Manager Thomas Moton who is rumored to be heading to Wilmington. He was preceded by the January 13, 2018 departure of Assistant City Manager Tasha Logan Ford to Winston-Salem.

In October 2017, Ken Graves left the city to become Assistant City Manager of Greenville, NC. There have been other recent departures.

Currently the city is actively looking to fill the following positions due to departures:

• Two (2) Assistant Managers
• Chief of Police
• Director of Planning
Assistant Director (Public Works & Water Resources)/Stormwater Management
• Fire Training/Recruitment Officer
Stormwater Engineer I/II
Transportation Planner/Senior Transportation Planner
