The FY 2019 proposed budget for the City of Rocky Mount calls for a 3.8% property tax rate increase and increases spending by 9.13%. Rumor has it the latest departure from the City of Rocky Mount is Assistant City Manager Thomas Moton who is rumored to be heading to Wilmington. He was preceded by the January 13, 2018 departure of Assistant City Manager Tasha Logan Ford to Winston-Salem.
In October 2017, Ken Graves left the city to become Assistant City Manager of Greenville, NC. There have been other recent departures.
