No one I’ve talked to from Rocky Mount wants money spent for this building, that will never be used. Rocky Mount already has places to rent for meeting etc. that are not being completely utilized. Our city residents need the money they are paying in taxes, for relief to pay their electric bills. When I worked at a local bank 3 years ago, elderly people were coming in checking their bank balances, so they could determine if they had enough to keep their electricity on for 2 more weeks, or until they could find money from somewhere else. I’m sure they are living in harder time today with all the unemployment in the area. I would much rather you spend the money I pay in City Taxes, on cleaning up crime in this city. Our city has a terrible crime rate, compared to the rest of the nation. Don’t believe me? Look it up!!!!!!!!!!
